PUMPKIN PATCH FUN

October 29, 2018
So I realised that it is basically the end of October and I have done NOTHING "Halloween"-y yet with the boys.

I have never been a huge halloween person. Of course I went trick-or-treating when I was growing up and I have some great memories of going around my grandparents neighbourhood with my friends and sister and collecting all the candy we get in our trick-or-treating bags (which were normally pillowcases - maximum holding capacity). We would then run home to compare our loot, as I'm sure all kids do. My Grandparents neighbourhood was always great for trick-or-treating. A lot of the houses gave out normal sized or even king sized candy bars. And there was one house that you definitely want to get too early - they gave out $2 bills!! Cha-Ching!

I'm kind of sad that the UK isn't into the halloween spirit. I know the boys are both still too young to fully appreciate Halloween and trick-or-treating...but where am I supposed to get my free candy from?! I mean, my parents benefited from our candy collecting, isn't it my turn?! haha - Just kidding, but also kind of not kidding?

Anyway...totally strayed off my point there! Pumpkin patch!! I decided to take the boys to a pick your own pumpkin patch that is pretty close to where we live. Obviously, Arthur didn't really care - he just goes where he is taken and is a pretty great sport at it. Poor Arthur, since I wasn't able to take the stroller with me into the field, he had to make do with being carted around in the wheelbarrows the farm provided.

Henry didn't really care much for the pumpkins - he kept calling them "balls" and trying to kick them. To be fair to him, they do look like a ball! He tried to pick up a few, but quickly realised that they were just too heavy for him, so then proceeded to just run around and try to jump in the mud puddles instead. Obviously.

Nonetheless, it was a fun afternoon out. Henry even made friends with a few of the farms chickens - all thanks to the cracker crumbs that were stuck to his shirt!
